A Brand new Identity. Still Velp, now evolved.

Velp’s story began in 1983, when our founder Ermete Passoni started from his own backyard — much like the origin of many iconic companies, right? — driven by the ambition to support scientists with reliable instruments that would empower their pursuit of discovery.

Since then, we have grown significantly. Today, Velp remains a family-owned company, now led by the second generation with Giovanni Passoni as CEO. We’ve become a global organization, serving customers in over 130 countries through two international subsidiaries and a network of more than 300 distribution partners.

In 2024, we paused to reflect on our journey and what we have become. Velp today is trusted by thousands of customers in food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, academia, and environmental analysis. We’ve expanded our product range, embraced digital transformation, and helped laboratories worldwide improve their performance and sustainability.

It was time for our brand to reflect the company we are today — and the one we’re becoming.

Our first goal was to revisit and define our identity, ensuring we could communicate it with clarity and consistency. The result of this work is our Brand Manifesto and our new brand claim: Driven by curiosity — a powerful synthesis of our values, vision, and mission:

Science is driven by a curiosity about the natural world and the human desire to understand how things work. Every day, a sense of wonder motivates scientists to explore the unknown and ask fundamental questions about the world around us.

We at Velp embrace this spirit, fostering open-mindedness and creativity. We blend Italian craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology to deliver exceptionally user-friendly and reliable laboratory equipment and analytical instruments. Renowned for our clean, minimalist design, we strive to simplify the scientific routines of those committed to enhancing quality of life and addressing critical global challenges.

As a natural step in our evolution, we developed a new logo to embody our renewed identity — one that both celebrates our heritage and projects us into the future.

Our new logo consists of the lettering Velp, which is now clean of any other visual element in line with the minimalistic, clean, and modern design of our products.

We’ve preserved a meaningful connection to our origins through the subtle angle at the top-left of the “V,” a typographic gesture that links the new identity to our historic logo. It’s a refined bridge between past and present, a reminder that innovation doesn’t mean forgetting where we come from.

Our signature light blue continues to be a visual thread across products and branding — a symbol of Velp’s credibility and trustworthiness.
