The OXITEST reactor accelerates the oxidation process which normally lasts weeks or months. The samples are placed in two separate titanium chambers and subject to high oxidative stress at a constant temperature of 90°C/194°F and a partial oxygen pressure of 6 bar.
Oxidation resistance is indicated by the "induction period" IP, the time required to reach the oxidation starting point, corresponding to either a level of detectable rancidity or a sudden change in the rate of oxidation, due to the total amount of oxygen consumed by the product. The longer the induction period, the greater the oxidation stability over time.
The powerful VELP OXISoftTM software controls up to 4 instruments. Select the "Formula Comparison" option that enables the comparison of different formulations, discriminating the oxidation stability of the products.
OXITEST can therefore provide support in evaluating potential alternatives for sunflower oil and analyzing the consequences of these in terms of shelf life and product quality.
Thanks to the connectivity to the VELP Ermes cloud platform, the OXITEST enables the reduction of routine operations and enables you to monitor your instruments in real-time, anywhere, anytime from your PC, smartphone or tablet.
