Bronze medal in EcoVadis sustainability rating

Bronze medal in EcoVadis sustainability rating

We are proud to be recognized with the EcoVadis bronze medal, placing us among the top companies globally for sustainability.

The EcoVadis methodology, based on international standards like the UN Global Compact, Global Reporting Initiative, and ISO 26000, evaluates 21 criteria across four key themes: EnvironmentLabor & Human RightsEthics, and Sustainable Procurement. For this reason, it provides a robust framework for businesses to measure, improve, and communicate their sustainability performance.

This recognition reflects our commitment to implementing tangible actions in economic, environmental, and social areas while creating value for customers and contributing positively to society and the environment.

Environmental Sustainability

Environmental Sustainability

We have always pursued the goal of being a “Green Company”, committed to ensuring a better environment for future generations.

  • We have carried out an energy redevelopment of our Italian headquarters, achieving up to 80% savings in operating costs compared to a traditional system and significantly reducing CO₂ emissions.
  • We installed 750 m² of high-efficiency photovoltaic panels and adopted geothermal systems to increase energy self-sufficiency and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
  • We select eco-friendly materials for our products and develop energy-saving technologies to reduce consumption and environmental impact.
  • We systematically monitor and improve the consumption of raw materials, waste generation, transportation processes, and the use of recycled and recyclable materials.

Social Sustainability

Social Sustainability

For us, the social dimension means valuing people, promoting human rights, and building positive relationships with local communities and our stakeholders.

  • We respect the human rights of employees and local communities and require our suppliers to adopt the same principles, identifying and managing environmental, social, and economic impacts within the supply chain.
  • We promote safe and healthy working conditions, enhance intellectual capital, strengthen know-how, and encourage the active participation of our staff.
  • We support inclusion by ensuring equal opportunities without discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, gender, sex, or age.
  • We are committed to responsible purchasing, prioritizing suppliers who adopt ethical and sustainable practices and encouraging them to increase sustainability awareness within their own supply chains.

Governance

Governance

For Velp, governance means operating with transparency, responsibility, and integrity, integrating ESG principles into daily activities and decision-making.

  • We maintain an integrated QHSE management system compliant with UNI EN ISO 9001, UNI EN ISO 14001, and UNI ISO 45001, applying a systematic approach to processes and responsible business management.
  • Decisions are based on concrete data and on an approach focused on evaluating risks and opportunities.
  • We maintain transparent relationships with all stakeholders, promote fair competition, and prevent conflicts of interest, corruption, and fraud.
  • We define quantitative and qualitative environmental and social targets (such as increasing renewable energy use, reducing CO₂ emissions, and improving material recycling) and regularly monitor results to assess their effectiveness.
  • We establish sustainability criteria in the evaluation of suppliers and contractors, prioritizing those who operate consistently with our ESG values.
