BOD test with Control Test Tablets
BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) is an analytical procedure for determining the amount of dissolved oxygen consumed by aerobic biological microorganisms in water. In order to check the complete BOD Sensor System, it is possible to use the Control Test Tablets (code ), performing an oxygen demand experiment analogous to the BOD method.

Determination of the ultimate aerobic biodegradability of plastic materials in an aqueous medium with Respirometric Sensor System
The analysis involves the use of aerobic microorganisms in an aqueous medium containing inorganic salts and the organic material to be tested (the only carbon source) with a concentration of organic carbon between 100 and 2000 mg/l. The mixture is stirred in a closed vessel.

Nitrogen-containing compounds act as nutrients in streams, rivers, and reservoirs. The major routes of entry of nitrogen into bodies of water are municipal and industrial wastewater, septic tanks, feedlot discharges, animal waste runoff from fertilized agricultural fields and lawns and discharges from car exhausts. Bacteria in water quickly convert nitrites to nitrates and this process uses up oxygen. High nitrates in drinking water can cause digestive disturbances in people.
